Hunter’s Pie


  • oil for cooking I used mac nut oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 packet Venison mince
  • 2 cloves garlic diced
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 head cauliflower cut into florets
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 1/2 tsp nutritional yeast optional
  • salt and pepper to taste


  • Heat the oil in apan and fry the onions. Once translucent add in the mince till browned. add the garlic and spices and stir in allowing to cook for about 1 minute then season to taste. Place in an oven proof dish. In the meantime steam the cauliflower. Mash it and add nutritional yeast, butter and seasoning. Spread the cauliflower over the mince and place under the grill until the topping browns.


Serve with a fresh salad in summer or add some veg in with the mince
